How to overcoming geographical barrier? Our team members travel to any part of the world and still work together. A quick summary of what we have and what we don’t have:

We have:
1. Mobile office
2. Notebook or netbook, with Webcam and Mic
3. VPN to serve as file server
4. Mobile broadband, 3G, WIFI…
5. Fax machine (should migrate to eFax soon…)
6. Skype, MSN, Yahoo Messenger…
7. Groupmail with external database
8. Air ticket… kidding

We don’t have:
1. Phone line
2. Postal address

We have one problem now… Timezone :)

Mobile Office, Trial

Spoiled half a cup of tea on notebook. Thanks to the prompt support from Dell, it was fixed the next two days with a new keyboard.

Met Carrie today, the manager of Hollys Coffee. She is kind enough to convince us to make it as our ~~home~~ office. The Internet connection here is reliable, and we have no worry of running out of drinks. Try the Hollycinno :)

Celcom 3G Router

Yes, part of the mobile office requirement- Connectivity. Applied last week, activated today, start moving. I got this from Celcom, The Curve. A 500 MYR deposit is required during registration, but this is deductable from the monthly fee. Monthly fee is RM299!

Good thing about this Router, it is WIFI ready. This means, you can create an mobile office environment and shared the connection. Okie, it is not really something complicated. Just imagine you have a Wireless Router, instead of feeding it with Streamyx connection from a phone line, it’s replaced with a 3G Sim Card from Celcom.

Celcom 3G Router

No fair policy applied for this 299-MYR package. For those pendrive version, there is a fair policy of 5GB per month. Well, this exclusion is really something very useful for a corporate users like us!

Just one thing, the router comes with a power adapter. The power connector is a USB like port. I have tried connecting an USB cable to it but failed to power it up. Any ideas?
